This is a question I received on the Endeavor Facebook:
Myth: “We only have to sign up for an Honors course during the second semester of our second year in Honors, correct?”
I can see where this may be misleading. But, if you read in your Honors Student Handbook, it states (on page 9, under the header entitled “Sophomore”) that you must:
- Earn at least a C grade in an Honors course (Not HNRS 100 or COMH 121) in the fall semester.
- Earn at least a C grade in an Honors course (Not HNRS 100 or COMH 121) in the spring semester.
It also states:
- You may postpone taking the Honors courses or substitute one or two Honors courses with courses taken during a study abroad trip, if you first obtain permission for the Honors Program office.
- If you drop or withdraw from an Honors course without permission from the Honors Program office, you will be immediately dismissed from the Honors Program.
Please be aware of this, soon-to-be-sophomores! And remember, if you are planning on registering for GEOG 421, HUMH 327, or LITR 306, you must obtain permission by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Since registration began last Monday, and these classes might have already been filled.
If you have any questions, please contact the Honors Program office.
