What is tall, academically gifted, and has amazing leadership skills? Andrew Carlson! This Pre-Pharmacy student is a sophomore from Wixom, MI. Andrew recently received his acceptance into the Ferris State University College of Pharmacy and will begin the next step in his journey to becoming a pharmacist this fall as classes resume. In addition to being a student of academic excellence, Andrew is a great leader and all-around role model. As he holds one of the Resident Advisor positions in Cramer Hall, he has had the opportunity to demonstrate his leadership capabilities through planning residence hall events, such as “Milkshakes on Monday”, which was very successful. He also holds the Staff Social Chair and Social Media Chair within the Cramer Hall Council. As treasurer of the Honors Programming Board (or “HPB”) on campus, Andrew is responsible for keeping track of the HPB financial records. In his free time, Andrew is an avid mountain biker. He is in the process of planning a trip to the Porcupine Mountains in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for this summer. He also enjoys playing baseball and dabbles in tennis. In the future, Andrew hopes to continue mountain biking religiously. Another goal of his is to fully enjoy life, and eventually land his dream career as a pharmacist in a hospital setting. To manage stress, Andrew takes advantage of exercising. Due to his extremely busy schedule, it should be no surprise that Andrew needs to keep organized. He does this by laying out tasks in order of importance, creating to-do lists, and then tackling them as efficiently as possible (this is where his deep love for coffee comes in handy). Whether it be handling financial duties for the Honors Programming Board, planning and organizing events for Cramer Hall, or riding his mountain bike… Andrew is a dedicated hard worker that acts as a great example of an “ideal honors student”!
