Dorm Life Cookbook: Peanut Butter Banana Quesdaillas

By: Brittany Trombley

These are a collection of recipes that can be created within your own dorm room for those times you don’t feel like eating at The Rock or Quad and you can’t stand living off of ramen noodles or cereal anymore.

First there are some suggested items you can keep in your dorm:

  • Cutting Boards
  • Can opener
  • Crock pot
  • Knives under 2.5″
  • Ziploc bags
  • Mixer (electric)

And a few things you cannot have:

  • Hot plates
  • Knives longer than 2.5″
  • Fridges larger than 4.6 cubic ft.
  • Toaster/Toaster oven
  • Electric skillets
  • Microwave over 750 watts

Peanut Butter Banana Quesadillas

  • 1 8 inch flour tortilla
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/2 medium banana
  • 1 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • Knife
  • Medium Skillet
  • Spatula

Spread 2 tbsp of peanut butter onto flour tortilla with knife. Peel banana and slice very thinly to arrange over half of the tortilla. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the banana slices and fold the tortilla in half.

Cook the quesadilla in a skillet over medium-low heat until golden brown and crispy on both sides.

Peanut Butter: Jif Creamy Peanut Butter 16oz                                $2.49/each

Fresh Bananas:                                                                         $0.52/pound

Chocolate Chips: Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Chips 11.5oz         $2.00/each

Flour Tortillas: La Favorita Flour Tortilla 120z -10 count       $0.99/each

Potential Problems:

Make sure to keep an eye on the quesadilla while cooking. It might cook faster than expected due to a hotter stove temperature than expected

This is a student-made cookbook. Any other recipes you would like to submit to be added to this cookbook are greatly welcomed.
